Betts Hummer
Betts Hummer was a challenge because it is sited on a 17-acre auto campus with Cadillac, Lexus, Jaguar and Volvo images. The Hummer icon design is a GM mandate, yet city requirements limit material choices and design elements. The final design successfully marries the competing requirements, yet blends the finished project into the overall campus.
EuropeanMotorcars Des Moines - Land Rover Showroom and Service
Known as the "most traveled vehicles on earth,? Land Rovers project the hearty image of outdoor adventure in even the most urban of settings. In a refreshing departure from the sleek contours of European Motorcars' other lines, the design of the 6,700 square-foot Land Rover dealership embraces a lodge feel and ambience. The architecture remains true to comfort with an enclosed service bay as well as inviting private offices and meeting rooms. Woodsy ruggedness appears in the most surprising places, such as the stone border around the detention basin. Outside, prospective owners can get a feel for off-roading without leaving the lot, thanks to a hill of piled boulders and rocky terrain. In testament to the quality of the design, EuropeanMotorcars adopted EDG's interpretation for its other Land Rover locations.
